Branaugh Leads The Way For Scots Over Monks

MEET RESULTS

The Gordon College Men's Swim team traveled up to Standish, Maine to compete against the Monks of Saint Joseph's College. The Fighting Scots defeated the home team 89-30.

By The Numbers
  • Senior, Stephen Mayo recorded a first place time of 22:50.32 in the 1650 yard freestyle.
  • In the 200 yard freestyle, Major Adair, took first with a time of 2:22.64.
  • With a record breaking time of 22.44, rookie standout, James Branaugh took home first in the 50 yard freestyle. The record before was 22.54 set in 2018.
  • John Sullivan tallied another first place finish for the blue and white in the 400 yard IM (5:03.58). 
  • Branaugh and Adair had the one two punch in the 50 yard butterfly with times of 26.25 and 27.87 respectively. 
  • In the 100 yard freestyle, Mayo hit the wall for a second place finish (1:00.28). 
  • Zachary Barneson added another first place finish for the Fighting Scots with a time of 31.78 in the 50 yard backstroke.
  • Mayo had another first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (6:37.06).
  • Sullivan and Barneson competed in the 50 yard breaststroke where they came in second and third with times of 32.27 and 34.71, respectively. 
  • Branaugh, Sullivan, Barenson, and Adair came in first place with a time of 1:39.43 in the 200 yard freestyle relay. 
Up next for the blue and white will be senior day on Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m. as they take on the University of Saint Joseph's Bluejays.
