A Tenfold Of Personal Records Notched Over Weekend Double Meet

The Gordon College Men's Track & Field team divided and conquered this weekend at the Boston Terrier Classic as well as the Wheaton College Invitational.

By The Numbers (Wheaton)
  • Henry Lonstein came in fifth in the 60m dash thanks to a time of 7.22 (tied own school record) and Daniel Chewning followed behind in seventh (7.35).
  • Daniel Erikson was the eighth hurdler to cross the finish (9.62) in the 60m H.
  • Jesse Comanda blazed through the competitors in the 800m run, nearly taking first but had to settle for a hard fought second place finish with a time of 1:58.81 to qualify for NE Championships. The rookie's time was just shy of the Gordon record.
  • Chewning took his talents to the long jump area and came in sixth after propelling himself 6.07m.
  • The 4x400 of Jacob Smith, Chewning, Comanda, and Lonstein broke a school record (3:33.45) and came in second place.
  • All five men who entered in the 3000m ran a personal best (see below).
By The Numbers (BU)
  • Jesse Comanda ran in the mile at BU Friday, winning his heat with a time of 4:20.64. That mark is just two seconds off the qualifying mark for NE Championships, and four seconds off the school record.
