Ross, Kim Earn All-CNE Recognition

CNE RELEASE

As announced this morning by the Conference of New England (CNE) office, Gordon College Women's Tennis stars Serena Ross and Annette Kim have been named All-CNE Second Team-Doubles. Ross has been named All-CNE First Team-Singles and Kim All-CNE Second Team-Doubles. Additionally, Kim was named to the inagural Community Service team.

Voting for the All-CNE Teams and major awards was held by the CNE head women's tennis coaches following the playoff seeding decisions in regular season.

Ross fastened conference singles wins against Suffolk (6-2, 6-1), Western New England (6-0, 6-1), and Curry (6-1, 6-1) for a 3-3 CNE record (4-4 overall). The sophomore's win over Curry came against an All-CNE second teamer. This marks the second time Ross has been selected to an All-Conference singles team.

Kim secured conference singles wins over Suffolk (6-2, 6-1), Curry (6-3, 6-2), Endicott (6-7, 5-7, 8-6, 7-6, 6-4) and Roger Williams (6-4, 6-2). Earlier this season in the 4-3 win against Endicott, Kim was the deciding factor as she won a tight singles match after resuming play from a delay days prior. This is the fourth time Kim has been voted onto an All-Conference team.

Ross and Kim combined forces to propel them to CNE doubles wins over Suffolk  (6-3), and Curry (6-0). This is the second time the duo has been selected to an All-Conference doubles team.

The No. 2 Fighting Scots look ahead to postseason play as they host in the CNE Semifinals on Thursday, October 17.
