HEAD OF THE CHARLES 2024
On Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20 thousands of
rowers will come together to brave the Charles River in the worlds largest Regatta. Among these elite rowers are the Gordon College Fighting Scots.
Boats take off from the DeWolfe Boathouse of Boston University. From there, they race 4,800 meters (3 miles) crossing under bridges such as Weeks and Eliot Bridge. The finish line is marked at FALS/Herter Park.Â
The Scots race three boats on Sunday, October 20 including a Men's Lightweight Fours (
Levi Lacoss,
Aidan Lowther,
Marty He,
Caleb Peterson, and Coxswain LilyAnna Hopkins), Women's College Fours (
Victoria Maties,
Elizabeth Romeo,
Sarah Petrenko, Amelia Philips, and Coxswain Carley Hoovey), and Women's Lightweight Fours (
Mara Sell,
Emily Nerger,
Isabella D'Agostino,
Samantha Hansen, and Coxswain
Kimmy Stevenson). Additionally, the
Hopkins family, comprised of current and former Scots including coach
Maddie Hopkins, will race a mixed 8+Â boat.Â
