Gordon College Women's Soccer hit the road this afternoon to square off against the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College (RIC) in Providence where the game concluded in a 1-1 tie.

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots came out of the gates hot, putting immediate pressure on the Anchorwomen keeper. However, both sides finished off the frame with a score of nil nil at the break.
• RIC used a corner kick in the 51st minute to break the stalemate and go ahead, 1-0.
• With just over 15 minutes left in regulation, the sophomore duo of Liana Hanley and Eowyn Lapp made it tie ball game after Lapp fed Hanley who ripped in the shot past the keeper (1-1).
• In the closing minutes, Gordon fired off four shots, shot but were unable to net the go ahead as the contest resulted in Gordon's second straight tie.

• Liana Hanley recorded her first collegiate goal today.
• The Scots return to action on Saturday, October 12 as they travel to Endicott College at 12 p.m. in Beverly.
