Gordon College Women's Basketball sailed up to Salem, Mass. to take on the Salem State Vikings Tuesday night. The Vikings held on for a 85-77 win over the Scots.

For the Fighting Scots, Woynitu Ciccarello netted 19 points and secured four steals. Naomi Nicholson hit a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. Nicholson also grabbed three steals. Ami Rivera scored 11 points while Sophie Peters scored nine.

For the Vikings, Kylie Gates notched 20 points, Ernidia Goncalves scored 17 points, and Abuk Teng hit 15 points. 

How It Happened

• Ciccarello started hot as she scored the first seven of the Fighting Scots' nine points of the game. The Scots closed out the first quarter with a pair of three's from Sami Monighetti and Jayme Kiser to go up 21-18 over the Vikings.
• Brynn Barnhard kept the three ball going to start the second as she drained one from beyond the arc. The Vikings battled to up with the Scots' sharpshooters hitting four three-pointers in the quarter. The half finished with the Scots on top 37-36.
• The Scots created a comfortable ten point lead after going off for 23 points in the third quarter (60-50).
• The Vikings' late surge in the fourth helped them barley escape the Scots. The game ended in a 85-77 win for the Vikings.
