Scots Continue To Smash Records In Weekend Meets

The Gordon College Men's Track & Field team once again split up for a pair of meets this weekend, with certain student-athletes competing at Boston University's Valentine Invitational while the rest of the squad competed at MIT's Gordon Kelly Invitational.

  • Henry Lonstein broke his own school record in the 60m dash with a time of 7.19.
  • Daniel Chewning continued with the broken records as the sophomore's time of 22.87 in the 200m was a PR and a school record.
  • Jesse Comanda shined in the mile, earned a second qualifying time to enter New Englands (800m). The rookie's time of 4:15.28 broke a 14 year old school record.

  • In the 600m, Alex Diaz placed 10th with a time of 1:31.00.
  • Jacob Smith ran in the 800m coming in 6th at 2:03.56, and teammate Zachary Smith edged out a top 10 finish (2:08.10).
  • J. Smith, Z. Smith, Diaz, and Peter McGinn tacked on a third place finish in the 4x400m relay (3:40.22). 

Qualified competitors will look to compete at the DIII New England Championships on Sunday, February 25.
