J. Smith Shines For The Scots In Record-Setting Day

MEET RESULTS

The Gordon College Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed in the New England DIII Indoor Championships at The Track at The New Balance in Boston today. Overall, six student-athletes represented the Fighting Scots at today's Championship.

By The Numbers
  • The distance medley relay team comprised of Jacob Smith, Henry Lonstein, Josef Schultz, and Zachary Paige took down the school record after earning a time of 10:56.50. Smith's 1:56.95 split time in the 800m leg propelled the Scots to secure the school record. 
  • Rookie Jesse Comanda ran 0.1 off of his personal record (4:15.38) in the one mile to secure a fifth place overall finish. 
  • To cap off the day, the 4x400m relay team consisting of J. Smith, Daniel Chewning, Comanda, and Lonstein broke their own school record with a time of 3:28.56. Smith once again set the tone in his second relay of the day to lead the blue and white.
Overall between both the men's and women's programs the Fighting Scots have set 15 school records this indoor season. 

This wraps up the indoor season for the blue and white. Next up for the Scots is the outdoor season which begins on Saturday, March 23 as they compete at the Sean Livingston Invitational hosted by Roger Williams.
