Scots Take Care Of Cougars, 8-1

Box Score The Fighting Scots of Gordon College Women's Tennis continued their spring break play as they took on the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars in Hilton Head, South Carolina and defeated their opponents, 8-1. 

As doubles action began, Abbigail Fournier and Kristin Kendall took the lead for the Scots with an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 slot. The Cougars evened up the overall score 1-1, but the pair of Amanda Kim and Emily Fulling gave the blue and white a 2-1 lead, as they defeated the No. 3's of the Cougars in a close 8-7 match. 

Chloe Hanley started off singles play with a win of 6-2, 6-4 over the No. 2, while teammate, Serena Ross got the win against the No. 1 player (4-6, 6-2, 12-10). Giving the overall victory to Gordon was Fournier (6-0, 6-2). The Fighting Scots continued with success as, Fulling, Kendall, and Kim all achieve individual wins on the outing. 

Gordon goes on to play John Carroll University on Tuesday, March 5 at 1 p.m. in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
