Comanda Breaks School Record In Shortened Season-Opener Meet

In their outdoor season-opener, Gordon College Men's Track & Field battled at Roger Williams' Sean Livingston Invitational in Portsmouth, Rhode Island today. The inclement weather across the area caused the meet to be cut short, but the Fighting Scots were able to break a school record and record a person best on the day.

By The Numbers (Track Events)
  • Senior Zachary Smith was the seventh runner to cross the finish line in the 1500m run thanks to a time of 4:32.16.
  • In the 400m dash, Jacob Smith earned a second place finish with a time of 51.81 which was just .3 behind the first place runner.
  • Rookie distance specialist Jesse Comanda ran away with the 3000m as the freshman crossed the finish line at the 9:00.62 mark. Comanda's time sets a new Gordon record where the previous record was set in 2016.
