Lonstein Highlights Silfen Invitational

Gordon College Men's Track & Field team traveled to Connecticut College for a two-day meet at the Silfen Invitational. 

By The Numbers (Track Events)
  • In Friday night action, Josef Schultz set a personal record with a time of 4:13.17 in the 1500m, as he placed 23rd out of 75 runners.
  • Jacob Smith continued to have a standout season in the 800m as he came in seventh overall with a time of 1:57.67. 
  • Starting Saturday, Henry Lonstein ran a time of 11:19 in the 100m taking third.
  • Lonstein continued to shine as he placed fifth in the 200m with a time of 22.83, which broke the school record. Also, teammate Daniel Chewning claimed ninth place with his time of 22.94. 
  • Lonstein, Chewning, Keenan Jones, and Matthew McCluskey booked a time of 44.09 in the 4x100m relay, which also secured a second place finish for the blue and white.
  • Jesse Comanda has now qualified for the New England Championships in the 1500m as he ran a personal best of 4:01. The time secured the freshman an 18th place spot out of 91 runners as he competed at Bucknell University.

  • In the javelin throw, two personal bests were set, first by Noah Prince with a distance of 37.07m, followed by teammate Matthew Fish who threw a distance of 25.60m. 
Next up for the Fighting Scots is their final meet before the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships, as they compete in the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT on Saturday, April 20 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
