Gordon Honors Seniors At Jonathan Tymann Invitational

Gordon College Men's Track & Field hosted the Jonathan Tymann Invitational on a rainy afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex today. Before the start of today's events, the Fighting Scots honored Zachary Paige, Jacob Smith, Zachary Smith, and Christopher Taylor.

By The Numbers (Track Events)
  • Josef Schultz booked a time of 4:18.89 in the 1500m to earn a second place finish. 
  • In the 400m, Jacob Smith ran a 51.08 to secure the second place finish, coming 0.3 seconds behind the first place finisher. 
  • Rookie, Jesse Comanda continues to shine in his first campaign as he claimed first in the 800m run with a time of 1:55.64. Comanda's time is just 0.3 second off of the school record, which teammate J. Smith currently holds. Teammate Zachary Smith, also recorded a top-10 finish as the senior's time of 2:07.55 placed him in sixth. 
  • The Scots had an impressive showing in the 200m dash, led by Matthew McCluskey with a time of 23.97, which took second place. Peter McGinn (24.63) followed that up in the seventh slot, as well as Keenan Jones with a time of 24.74 coming right outside the top-10 in 11th.

  • Rounding out the top-10 for Gordon was Davi Butkowsky and Noah Prince with measure of 28.50m and 25.63m in the discus throw. 
  • In sixth place for the long jump, McCluskey propelled himself a distance of 5.60m.
  • Daniel Chewning took first place in the triple jump, with a distance of 11.90m.
  • Butkowsky had another impressive outing in the shot put with a distance of 11.00m notching seventh place. 
  • Then, junior, Butkowsky tacked on another top-10 finish with a distance of 27.29m coming in the ninth slot in the hammer. 
Next up for the Fighting Scot is the Silfen Invitational for a two-day event in New London, Conn. on April 12 and 13.
