The Gordon College Softball team wrapped up the season on their home diamond today as they hosted the Colonels of Curry College in a doubleheader. The Fighting Scots swept the Colonels in both games by scores of 7-3 and 6-1. 

Game One

• In the opening inning of the game, Curry took an early lead as they sent a solo shot over the right field fence. However, in the home half of the second, the blue and white's Samantha Perkins laced a hit up the middle bringing in classmate, Lauren Parker, to even out the score 1-all. 
• Ami Rivera led off the bottom of the third with a double, followed by a triple from Liahna Messier. Then, Jayden Johnson brought in Messier after she sent a shot to right field (3-1).
• Gordon tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, widening the gap to 7-1. The Colonels looked to make a comeback in the top of the seventh inning, but the Fighting Scots took the win, 7-3. 

Game Two

• Curry opened up the first inning as they plated the first run of the game, but Gordon answered right back in the same frame doubling up the score, 2-1.
• Sierra Ricci doubled to right center and eventually was brought home by Emily Peterson (3-1) in the bottom of the second inning. 
• After a scoreless third, the home team scored two runs off of an A. Rivera single to stretch their lead to 5-1 after four innings of play.
• The Scots added one more insurance run in the bottom of the sixth en route to the 6-1 win.
• Pitcher Ricci went the distance, allowing five hits and only one run. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Ami Rivera had back-to-back three hit performances this afternoon, including her second two-double hit game of the year.
• Sierra Ricci finished off the season, recording hits in three straight games. Ricci also booked her first multi-hit game of her career.
• Gordon graduates seniors Jayden Johnson and Sierra Ricci.
