Scots Knock Off Sharks In Boston

Box Score Gordon College Women's Tennis traveled into Boston this Labor Day to square up against the Simmons University Sharks where the Fighting Scots began their fall campaign in the win column after a 4-3 victory.

How It Happened
  • Chloe Hanley and Amanda Kim blanked their No. 2 counterparts, 6-0 to put Gordon in position to clinch doubles. No. 3 doubles partners, Emma Tiemens and Gianna Hallam put Gordon in the driver's seat after securing a 6-1 win, giving the Scots the 1-0 lead heading into singles.
  • Hallam continued her winning ways as the rookie defeated Simmons' No. 6 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1, followed by A. Kim who earned the 7-5, 6-0 win.
  • Needing one more victory to seal the match, Hanley answered the call as the sophomore's 6-3, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles handed Gordon the overall victory. 
Next up for the Fighting Scots is the Clash on the Grass hosted by Salve Regina in Newport, R.I. on September 12.
