Scots Celebrate Senior Day With Win Over Monks

Gordon College Swimming celebrated Senior Day with a meet against the Monks of Saint Joseph's at the Bennett Center this afternoon. Before the meet, seniors Zachary Barneson, Grace Haxhinasto, and Gina Ouellette were honored and celebrated. The Fighting Scots defeated the visitors by a score of 129-67.

By The Numbers
  • Starting off the afternoon in winning fashion were Emma Bruhl, Emma Lippiatt, Gina Ouellette, and Isabella Gadouas who orchestrated a time of 2:01.29 in the 200 yard medley relay.
  • Katherine Maloney and Grace Haxhinasto finished in first (20:18.33) and second place (21:14.19), respectively in the 1650 yard freestyle.
  • Lydia Shustack was the top performer in the 200 yard freestyle thanks to a stellar time of 2:13.97.
  • Gadouas touched the wall .2 behind first place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.74.
  • Arwen Hefner and Gina Ouellette booked second and third place in the 50 yard butterfly with times of 32.21 and 32.83, respectively.
  • The Fighting Scots swept the 400 yard IM with Maloney taking the crown, followed by Shustack and Haxhinasto.
  • Another trio of Scots finished in order, this time in the 500 yard freestyle as Bruhl, Heffner and Kalea Gormley took first, second, and third.
  • Shustack, Lippiatt, Haxhinasto, and Gadouas wrapped up the meet just how the blue and white started with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:49.98).
Highlights of Men's Non-Scoring Meet
  • Theo Dietrich broke the men's programs 100 IM record with a time of 54.19. The newcomer broke the previous school record by two seconds. 
  • Then, the men's 200 yard freestyle relay led by Daniel Mota, Major Adair, Theo Dietrich, and James Branaugh teamed up to boast a time of 1:29.67 which also broke the program record by two seconds. 
The Fighting Scots will now look ahead to the Metropolitan Championships in February to wrap up their 2024-2025 campaign.
