WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback to Western New England Saturday afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Western New England snagged a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute. Tess Chevalier headed in a rebound to notch her second tally of the year after Emily Smith fired a shot off the crossbar.
- The Golden Bears widened the gap to 2-0 with a strike in the 53rd minute. Meghan Hartnett slipped in her third goal of the season as Liza Pinette picked up an assist.
- Gordon got on the board in the 67th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. Eowyn Lapp (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) rifled a right-footed shot into the lower corner of the cage to bag her league-leading 13th goal of the fall. Ava Forbes-Smith (Bridgewater, Mass.) collected her team-leading fifth assist of the campaign on the score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Eowyn Lapp (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) fired a team-high six shots while Ava Forbes-Smith (Bridgewater, Mass.) registered five shot attempts.
- Senior goalkeeper Emily Bengtson (Anthem, Ariz.) posted three saves in her third start of the season.
- The Fighting Scots generated 19 shots on the afternoon while the Golden Bears concluded the contest with 12 shots.
