BREWSTER, Mass.- The Gordon College Women's Golf team continued its steady progress this weekend, finishing 6th out of 10 teams at the 2025 NEIGA Championship at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass. The Scots posted rounds of 407–390 (797 total)—a 17-stroke improvement on day two—marking the first time in program history that Gordon has moved up the leaderboard in a two-day tournament. Their second-round surge allowed them to pass the University of Southern Maine by nine strokes, and they outperformed the University of New England by 14 strokes just one week after finishing behind UNE by 29 strokes at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship—a clear sign of the team's competitive drive and progress.
Highlights and milestones:
- Myla Glaser led the way with rounds of 96–86 (182), her score on day two tying her personal best in fall matches this season.
- Cassidy Costello followed closely with rounds of 100–94 (194), her score on day two setting a new personal tournament best.
- Chloe Korb (105–104) and Elizabeth Parent (109–106) both improved in round two, displaying strong consistency and focus that helped maintain the team's momentum.
- Olivia Miller (106–114) rounded out the team's scoring, while Kimmy Stevenson (133–123) continued to gain valuable tournament experience.
The NEIGA Championship challenges players with a different course each day — The Captains' Starboard and Port — each offering its own layout and test of skill. Improving by 17 strokes across two unique courses reflects the team's growing confidence, consistency, and belief in their process. Golf doesn't always give you the breaks you hope for, but the Scots showed that staying composed and trusting their process leads the way home.
Adding to the weekend's energy, many of the players' families traveled to Cape Cod to cheer on and support their daughters — coming from as far as Los Angeles, Colorado, Vermont, and Annapolis. Families bonded and formed a walking gallery throughout the tournament, giving the Scots an extra boost of encouragement and pride on the fairways.
The team now shifts its focus to their final fall event next Saturday, when the Fighting Scots host a one-day stroke play match at Windham Country Club in Windham, NH, to wrap up their fall season.
