BEVERLY, Mass.- The Gordon College women's tennis team collected five All-Conference of New England (CNE) accolades, as the league office announced the end-of-season awards Tuesday.
Lucille Belval (Avon, Conn.) was named the CNE Rookie of the Year to headline the Fighting Scots' selections.
Belval also earned All-CNE First Team Singles while
Chloe Hanley (Clifton Park, N.Y.) claimed All-CNE Second Team Singles honors.
Serena Ross (Boerne, Texas) captured her third career all-conference nod, garnering All-CNE Third Team Singles accolades.
In singles action, Belval posted a 9-4 record with a 7-2 mark in league competition at the No. 1 singles position. Hanley owned a 9-3 record on the year in singles matches while Ross sported an 8-4 mark.
Lucille Belval (Avon, Conn.) and
Makayla Otey (Greer, S.C.) combined to pick up All-CNE Second Team Doubles honors.
Gianna Hallam (Williamsville, N.Y.) and
Serena Ross (Boerne, Texas) were also selected to the All-CNE Third Team Doubles.
The pairing of Belval and Otey chalked up a 5-1 record at the top doubles position. Hallam and Ross teamed up to boast a 2-1 mark on the season.
Senior
Emma Tiemens (Worth, Ill.) represented Gordon on the CNE Community Service Team which highlights one student-athlete per institution who demonstrates a commitment to their community. Each winner was picked and nominated by each program's head coach.
The Fighting Scots concluded the fall season with a 10-4 overall record and an 8-2 mark in conference play. Gordon claimed the No. 3 seed in the CNE Tournament and reached the CNE Tournament semifinals.
