DAVENPORT, Fla.- The Gordon College softball team suffered a pair of setbacks Saturday, falling to Carroll 12-4 and to Husson 11-0.
GORDON vs. CARROLL
THE BASICS:
Score: Gordon 4, Carroll 12
Records: Fighting Scots (1-2) | Pioneers (5-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon captured a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
- Carroll generated nine runs in the bottom of the second to claim a 9-1 advantage.
- The Fighting Scots chalked up three runs in the third to trim the gap to 9-4.
- The Pioneers tacked on two runs in the fourth inning and added a run in the fifth to secure the run-rule win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Zoey Moscato (Chelmsford, Mass.) posted two RBIs and one base knock.
- Makayla Falco (Warwick, R.I.) notched two runs scored, one RBI, one stolen base, and one hit.
- Peyton Heitzman (Champlin, Minn.) chipped in with one hit, one run scored, and a stolen base.
- Kassie Snowman (St. Albans, Maine) pitched one inning in her first start of the season. Katie Melendy (Easton, Mass.) threw three innings of relief. Lizzie DeRusha (Nashua, N.H.) also made her first pitching appearance of the spring.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Husson erupted for six runs in the top of the third inning to claim a 6-0 lead.
- The Eagles manufactured five runs in the fifth to widen the gap to 11-0.
