Corey Laster

In over 15 years of collegiate coaching, Laster has served either as an assistant or head coach in the NAIA and across all three divisions of NCAA basketball, most  recently as the head women's coach at Division II University of Colorado- Colorado Springs. Prior to his four-year post with the Mountain Lions, he spent two  years at the helm of Division III Defiance College's women's basketball program (2005-2007) and three as the head women's coach at his NAIA alma mater,  Taylor University (2000-2003). As an assistant, he spent three seasons at Division I Bucknell University (2007-2010), two at Division II Saint Michael's College  (2003-2005), and one as an assistant men's coach at Taylor (1999).

Outside of coaching, Laster was selected to participate in the NCAA Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) forum, has served on the Women's Basketball  Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 voting committee, and was a presenter at the 2013 WBCA National Convention.

He earned his bachelor's degree in counseling from Taylor in 1993 and followed with a master's in student personnel in administration from Ball State  University in 1998. He later earned a Certificate in Diversity Training from the National Multicultural Institute in Washington, D.C.

While a student at Taylor, Laster was a four-year member of the men's basketball program where he completed his career as one of the school's all-time  leading scorers and rebounders. He was inducted into Taylor's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2008.
