Mello has extensive experience working in outdoor and experiential education with the La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership at Gordon College. She also served as a weight loss coach/consultant for Awaken 180° Weightloss. Her goals are to use holistic coaching and experiential education to promote physical and mental excellence.

Mello played 3 (2006-2009) years for Clube União Sportiva on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, Portugal. Played 5 years (2009-2014) on private school teams in Massachusetts.
