Ryan McDonald

Ryan McDonald grew up in North Reading, Mass. and graduated from North Reading High School in 1997. He competed in junior golf events on the North Shore and played high school golf in the Cape Ann League. He also won the Cape Ann League Championship in 1996.

In 1999, McDonald graduated college from the Golf Academy of America in Orlando, Florida and then turned professional. In 2005, he obtained his Class “A” card from the PGA of America.

McDonald, who also serves as the golf professional at the Wenham Country Club, returned to the North Shore after working at the Northfield Country Club in Northfield, Vermont, where he was the head golf professional for several years. While in Vermont, he also was the head golf coach for Norwich University. Prior to Northfield, he worked as a golf professional at Nantucket Golf Club and John’s Island Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida.

As a golf professional and coach his passion is teaching adults and kids to enjoy the game more by playing better. His patient demeanor combined with his knowledge of the golf swing gives him the ability to help anyone improve.
Ryan has won two professional golf tournaments, The 2006 Devine Nine Golf Tournament (Philadelphia PGA), and the 2015 Green Mountain National Championship (Vermont PGA). He has also received two awards from the PGA of America, Merchandiser of the year (2016) and the Junior Golf Leader Award (2014).

Ryan and his wife, Stephanie, have two kids, Jane and Connor. While away from the club and the Gordon team he enjoys spending time with his family, competing in PGA section events, and following the Boston sports teams.
