Junior guard Mar Barner (Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been named Chick-fil-a Gordon Athlete of the Week after leading the women's basketball team to a 13-point win over Wentworth on Thursday.

Barner came alive in the second half of a close game, scoring 12 points in the final frame to push Gordon's lead to as many as 15 in the closing minutes. Gordon pulled out a 52-39 win for their first Commonwealth Coast Conference victory of the season. Barner averaged 14.5 points and shot over 40% in a 1-1 week for the Fighting Scots.
