Ami Rivera is Gordon's Athlete of the Week! Rivera was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week as well after an outstanding week. On January 31, A. Rivera guided her squad to a 10-point win over the Curry College Colonels (77-67) after recording a game-high 24 points, as well as grabbing six rebounds and dishing out as many dimes on the night. Then, this past Saturday, the junior guard netted her 1,000th career point as a Fighting Scot with five seconds remaining after dropping 25 points in a narrow loss to the Roger Williams Hawks. A. Rivera scored 14 of the Scots' 22 points in the final quarter as well as contributing seven boards and three assists and rebounds on the afternoon. Additionally, A. Rivera's 25 points against the Hawks is the most the Hawks have allowed an opposing player to score all season. Overall, Rivera shot 49% from the field and 46% from behind the arc and led all scorers in both match-ups. The junior is also the 15th member of Gordon College Women's Basketball to score 1,000 points in program history.
