Gordon Men's Soccer forward
Eric Ernst (Sr./Ridgecrest, Calif.) has been selected as Gordon's Athlete of the Week for the week of July 16.
Appointed captain for the upcoming season, Ernst, together with fellow classmate and captain
Kellen Kasiguran (Sr./Oakwood Village, Ohio), will help run the Fighting Scots' campaign for the conference title under the guidance of Head Coach Johnny Whallon.
Ernst appeared in all 19 of the Scots' contests in 2011 and was an integral piece of Gordon's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Runner-Up effort in 2010.
Said Whallon, "Eric is a terrific leader on our team, and his maturity is a key ingredient to our success. He has adapted to different positions as we've needed him to which is a very valuable quality to me and the team. There is no question he will lead us well this fall."
