Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.) has been selected as Gordon's Athlete of the Week for helping lead the Fighting Scots in a three-game schedule last week.
In a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup with Roger Williams on Jan. 29, despite a loss on the night, Kranyak paced Gordon's effort with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one block. Then, following a five-point, six-rebound outing at the University of New England on Jan. 31., she once again led the Scots' charge with an impressive 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals in a 44-43 home CCC win over Eastern Nazarene on Feb. 2.
Prior to this past week's games, Kranyak had recorded four straight double-doubles and broke Gordon's single game rebounding record against Curry on Jan. 26 with 22 boards.
Overall on the season she has recorded seven double-doubles and is averaging 13.2 points, 9.3 rebounds per game.
