For the second consecutive week,
Brian Harrington (Sr./Shoreham, N.Y.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after garnering postseason accolades from The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) and D3Baseball.com.
Harrington, along with 52 student athletes from across the region, was selected to the NEIBA 2013 Division III All-New England Third Team, following which D3Baseball announced his inclusion on the 2013 All-New England Region First Team. He was one of eight players from around the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) to receive the D3Baseball All-New England nod.
Previously this season, Harrington was selected to the CCC First Team (SS) and Honorable Mention Team (P).
The veteran shortstop recorded a .905 fielding percentage with 90 assists and 43 putouts on the year while leading the team at the plate with a .402 batting average (53-132), .598 slugging percentage, and .426 on base percentage.
In 36 games-started, he registered 30 RBIs off two home runs, one triple, and a Gordon-record 18 doubles while stealing eight bases. From the mound, he finished with a 2-1 overall record, appearing in 16 games and striking out 28 for a 2.93 ERA.
