Peter Amadon has served as the head coach to the Gordon's men's tennis program since 2007 and took over the women's program following the fall 2012 season. An alumnus of the College, Amadon graduated in 2004 with degrees in political studies and history. During his time as a student, he participated in men's soccer and tennis, establishing himself as one of the Fighting Scots' best at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles on the court his senior year. For his efforts he was honored to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Second Team and was named the team's most valuable player. Additionally, he was also an invaluable member of the Scots' club golf program.

As head coach of the men's program, Amadon has coached numerous All-CCC honorees, two CCC Senior Scholar-Athletes, has nine times earned the CCC Sportsmanship Award (2007-2014, 2018), and has had multiple players achieve spots on the CCC All-Academic Team.

Outside of his coaching responsibilities at Gordon, he serves as both an assistant athletic director and the director of capital projects. Amadon is also a member of the Professional Tennis Registry and periodically helps out at the local Bass River Tennis Club by teaching at clinics and lessons.

Both programs have seen major strides in competitiveness during Amadon's tenure. The winningest season marks in both programs has been attained under his guidance, both during the 2015-16 academic year. The women won a program high 15 matches, while the men registered 16 victories in 2015-16. Amadon also oversaw the development of Zach Hall '16, who is a part of every record in men's program history, while also becoming the program's first CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2016.

Peter, his wife Janelle, and their children Myles, Madelyn and Mason currently reside in Georgetown, Mass.
