Scots Sweep St. Joseph's In Non-Conference Action

On the road in Standish, Maine to take on the Monks of St. Joseph's College in their penultimate match of the regular season, the Fighting Scots took a three-game sweep from their hosts to improve to 13-14 overall on the season.

After trading leads in the early-going of the opening set, the Scots went on a run midway through to establish a hefty lead en route to a 25-15 win. With set two starting off much the same way, it was the Monks who went on a run midway through to create at one point a six point lead. Gordon rallied from behind, though, etching away at the deficit before overtaking the lead to claim a 25-20 win. Despite set three being the closest of the match, the Scots never trailed after the opening point, eventually capturing a 25-22 win to close out the match sweep.

Claudia Amado (Sr./Glastonbury, Conn.) recorded 12 kills and 14 digs in the win, while Lauren Kranyak (So./Locust Grove, Va.) had eight kills, seven digs, and three service aces, Andrea Amado (Sr./Glastonbury, Conn.) handed out 28 assists, and Keri Hustus (Jr./Eastford, Conn.) tallied 23 digs in the win.

The women will host Western New England in the final contest of the regular season on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00p.m.
