In their final match of the 2011-2012 season, the Fighting Scots were bested in four by the visiting Golden Bears of Western New England to round out the season at 13-15 overall.
After dropping the opening set, 25-18, the Scots battled dueled back and forth with their guests through a grueling second set, eventually coming out on the winning end of a 29-27 final to even the match at one apiece. That proved as near as they would get to victory, however, as WNE took command in the remaining sets to capture 25-15 and 25-13 wins, respectively, and hand Gordon the 3-1 season-ending loss.
Claudia Amado (Sr./Glastonbury, Conn.) recorded 10 kills, eight digs for the Scots, while Andrea Amado (Sr./Glastonbury, Conn.) handed out 17 assists for the Scots, Keri Hustus (Jr./Eastford, Conn.) and Joy Kimmel (Fr./Madison, Conn.) added 12 digs, and Lauren Kranyak (So./Locust Grove, Va.) chipped in eight kills, seven digs.
