Hosting the Beavers of Babson College in a non-conference men's basketball tilt, the Fighting Scots were downed by their guests, 59-38, the move to 0-1 overall on the year.

After Park Thomas (So./Scottsdale, Ariz.) downed the first points of the game on a jumper from behind the arc to give Gordon the 3-0 advantage, Babson would overtake the lead for good just a minute and a half later after a dunk and a layup from Russell Braithwaite (Jr./Brooklyn, N.Y.). The score remained tight until the 17th minute when Babson began to pull away to establish a 11-point lead at the half.

The Scots rallied to close the gap to four points with 11 minutes remaining in the second, but that proved as close as they would get as the Beavers buckled down on the defensive end to allow just eight more points in the remaining minutes while netting 25 of their own to secure the win.

David Dempsey (Jr./Wallingford, Conn.) led the effort for Gordon with 10 points and nine rebounds on the night, while Luke Hamilton (So./Mount Airy, N.C) chipped in six points. Babson's Marcus McDermott (Jr./Milton, Mass.) posted 10 points, four rebounds in the win, while Peter Foley (Jr./Wells, Maine) recorded seven points and eight rebounds and Braithwaite ended the night with nine points.

The Scots take to the court again on Thursday, November 17 as they travel to face 10th-ranked MIT at 7:00p.m. Babson returns to action on the same day, hosting Framingham State at 8:00p.m.
