Volleyball Shuts Down Albertus Magnus In Three Games


WENHAM, Mass. - Claiming straight game victories (25-21; 25-20; 25-21), the Fighting Scots blanked the Falcons of Albertus Magnus, 3-0, in tonight's non-conference season opener to move to 1-0 overall. 

Sophomore Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.) led the Scots to tonight's win with 13 kills to go with a pair of aces and one block. Juniors Alex Nowoichik (Hamilton, Mass.) and Kate Williams (Jennerstown, Pa.) each added four kills for the Scots, while senior Andrea Amado (Glastonbury, Conn.) tallied 75 assists on the evening. Both Shannon Petersen (Fr./West Simsbury, Conn.) and Keri Hustus (Jr./Eastford, Conn.) led the Scots in digs with six and five, respectively. 

The Scots will look to continue their win streak on Saturday, September 3 as they host St. Joseph's (Conn.), Simmons, and Bay Path at the Gordon College Invitational beginning at 9:00 a.m. Albertus Magnus returns to action on Thursday, September 8 as they travel to Daniel Webster.
