In their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener, the Fighting Scots were swept, 3-0, by the visiting Seahawks of Salve Regina to move to 7-3 overall, 0-1 in conference on the season. With the win, Salve moves to 4-5 overall, 1-0 in conference.
Despite showing early promise with a close-fought, 22-25 result in game one, the Scots were never able to put up more points than that first game, falling in game two, 17-25, and game three, 15-25, to cede the match.
Gordon's Keri Hustus (Jr./Eastford, Conn.) posted 21 digs on the day, while Lauren Kranyak (So./Locust Grove, Va.) contributed seven kills, seven digs, and four aces and Andrea Amado (Sr./Glastonbury, Conn.) chipped in 12 assists, six digs, and two aces to the effort.
The Scots take to the court again on Tuesday, September 20 as they travel to Boston to face Wentworth in a CCC matchup at 7:00p.m.
