Scots Outdo Bison In CCC Action, 3-2

Box Score
The Scots bested the Bison of Nichols College, 3-2, in an emotionally charged Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup this afternoon at Gordon's Quad. Despite outshooting the Scots18 to 11 the Bison came up short when the final buzzer sounded.

After 31 minutes of back and forth play the Scots broke the drought when Kristian Kasiguran (So./Oakwood Village, Ohio) netted his first goal of the season to put Gordon on top 1-0. From there the Bison battled back with vengeance, scoring twice in the following three minutes. Their first goal came at 32:18 when Scott Coderre (Sr./Thompson, Conn.) finished on a cross from Donny Whittle (Fr./Ellington, Conn.) to tie the match. Just over two minutes later Whittle capitalized for his seventh goal of the season to give the Bison the 2-1 lead going into the break.

In the second stanza however, the game belonged to Scots as they scored twice to ice the eventual win over Nichols. Gordon's second goal was earned in the 75th minute when Nick White (Sr./Glenside, Pa.) finished a throw-in from Chris Carlson (Fr./South Hamilton, Mass.) that ricocheted off the head of Alek Duba (So./Bristol, N.H.). In the 82nd minute a hard tackle from the Nichols keeper Alex Geas (Fr./Somers, Conn.) in the box gave the Scots' Andy Guthrie a penalty kick that he scored to give Gordon the game-winner.

Geas finished the day with three saves on 10 shots, while Gordon's Tim Hardy (Jr./Gorham, Maine) turned away five in the CCC win.

Scots return to action on Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00p.m. as they play host to Endicott College, while Nichols takes on Western New England in Dudley on October 6 at 2:00p.m.
