The Scots were paced by

Jane Dietrich (Jr./West Hartford, Conn.) added a hat trick,
Abby Illian (So./Hillsdale, N.J.) pitched in two, and
Jessie Castelline (Fr./Concord, Mass.) and

Danielle Maguire (Jr./Braintree, Mass.) absorbed the loss for Gordon with eight saves on the night.
Gordon won the battle of the draw by a 22-6 margin, nine of which came from
Krysti Leach (Gr./Naples, Maine).
The Scots registered the first goals of the night in the opening minute when Illian converted on a Leach assist and Blomberg finished a free position to give Gordon the early 2-0 lead. UNE was quick to respond, however, as Newsome and Tavella hit a pair each to overtake the lead, 4-2, at 21:21. Once again Blomberg and Illian rose to the occassion on the attack with back-to-back goals at 16:59 and 14:29 to deadlock the game at 4-4.
Both teams would tally three more in the remaining minutes of the half, with Newsome, Smith, and Tavella getting one apiece for UNE and Blomberg going on a three-goal tear for Gordon to knot the game at 5-5 going into the break.
Castelline pushed the Scots on top at 24:30 in the second after slicing through traffic and besting Kendall for the one-goal lead, and though Lodge responded for the Nor'easters on her own solo effort at 20:09, Grinnell collected a feed from Dietrich just 15 seconds later to give the Scots the advantage once again (9-8).
From there, the Nor'easters surged on the offensive end for four unanswered goals to make it a 12-9 game heading down the stretch. And though Dietrich would net all three of her goals on free positions in the final minutes, in the end time ran out on the Scots' comeback effort and UNE walked away with the two-goal win.
The Scots return to conference play on Saturday, April 13 at 12 p.m. as they host the Seahawks of Salve Regina University. UNE is on the road once again for a CCC tilt with Western New England on the same day at 1 p.m.
