Volleyball Drops Two at Colby Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WATERVILLE, Maine. – The Gordon Volleyball team finished off a tough stretch with two losses to Maine Maritime and Smith College on day two of the Colby Invitational. The Scots lost in five sets to MMA before losing a straight set match to a solid Smith squad.
 
Freshman Jenna Labbadia led all scorers on the afternoon for the Fighting Scots with 16 total points. She finished off 13 assists in the first match against Maine Maritime, but only managed one kill in the second match, finishing with 14 on the afternoon.
 
Lauren Kranyak was second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points and nine total kills between the two matches.
 
Joy Kimmel had an eye-popping 38 assists in the first match and had 43 combined between the two. Hannah Swor came in for relief of Kimmel in the match against Smith and put up 12 assists of her own.
 
Gordon libero, Maggie Risma, paced the defense with 14 digs in two matches.
 
The Scots (3-3) will look to get back on track on Tuesday against St. Joseph's (Maine).
