Gulls Squeeze by Fighting Scots

Match Results
WENHAM, Mass.—Endicott Men's Tennis took two of three doubles, which ended up being the difference in a 5-4 win over the Gordon Fighting Scots. Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Kenny Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) combined for three wins, but the Scots could only pull out one more match in the CCC opener for both teams.

The Gulls started the day with quick victories at second and third doubles. Sean McAndrews and Michael Lauretano handed Richie Armand (Hempstead, N.Y.) and Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, Va.) an 8-4 loss at second doubles.  Dan Christensen (Attleboro, Mass.) and Daniel Dufoe (Malvern, Pa.) fell behind early and couldn't catch up, falling 8-2 at third.

Hall and Gaudio kicked off their quest for postseason accolades with an 8-5 victory over Michael Dolph and Evan Ross at first doubles. Hall then defeated Ross in straight sets at first singles—6-2 and 6-3. Gaudio gave the Scots their third point of the day, but losses at three more singles spots had already clinched the match for the Gulls.

Armand rebounded from a tough doubles result with a three-set triumph over the talented Lauretano. The sophomore shook off a second-set loss and held off a late rally in the third for his first conference win of the year.
