Men's Lax Falters in CCC Semis at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. —Gordon Men's Lacrosse saw its season come to a close on Wednesday in a 26-9 defeat at the hands of ninth-ranked Endicott. The Gulls explosive attack raced out to a 6-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back to complete a season sweep of the Scots.

Six different offensive weapons for Endicott recorded at least four points in the win and sophomore Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) shined in the face-off circle with 24-of-32 wins and nine groundballs.

Senior midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.), senior attacker Kyle Weber (West Hartford, Conn.), and sophomore attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) all tallied six points with Cotter and Weber each registering five goals and an assist while Bannon scored three times and assisted on three more in the semifinal win. Weber surpassed 50 goals on the season for the first time in his career and currently has 53 on the year.

Senior midfielder Joshua Tordik (Sayville, N.Y.) had his best game of the season with a five-point effort as he netted season-high three goals with two assists while scooping up two groundballs. Senior attacker Nick Pincaro (Beverly, Mass.) added two goals and two assists and sophomore attacker Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) eclipsed the 30-goal plateau in 2015 with three goals and an assist.

Jonathan and Jeremy Morgan (Lake Panamoka, N.Y.) each contributed offensively with Jonathan totaling three points on a goal and two assists and Jeremy tacking on two goals. Jonathan also had three groundballs.

A bright spot on the day, Scots junior attacker Jake Martin (Watertown, Conn.) poured in four goals with an assist to lead the visitors. Gordon's only other offensive threat came from junior attacker Ryan Utz (Rochester, N.Y.) who had two goals in the loss.

Gulls junior goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) recorded the win with seven saves in the cage. Bell's counterpart, junior Cody Greenwald (Albany, N.Y.) made nine saves before giving way to senior Brian Lane (Rochester, N.Y.) who made five saves in the fourth quarter.

The Gulls improve to 14-3 this season and head to their 11th Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in the last 16 seasons. Gordon finishes the year two games under .500 at 8-10, but played some of its best lacrosse in the final month of the season.
