WORCESTER, Mass.—Gordon Men's Tennis closed out a busy fall season with a 7-2 loss at Assumption on Monday afternoon on the Greyhounds Tennis Courts. The Fighting Scots picked up both wins at the bottom of their lineup in both singles and doubles play.

Gordon ends a successful fall campaign at 3-2, with its two losses coming against the better half of the Northeast-10, a Division II conference in the region.

The Greyhounds found success at the top half of the doubles lineup with an 8-3 win at first doubles and an 8-1 triumph at the second flight. Eric Kim (La Crescenta, Calif.) and Mike D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.) kept the Fighting Scots in the match with an impressive 8-2 victory at the third flight over Reb Mariano (New London, Conn.) and Casey Hodor (No. Kingstown, R.I.).

In singles action, Assumption claimed victory by sweeping the top half of the lineup in straight sets. Kim put up a fight at the fifth flight, but ultimately fell to Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn.) 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). Fellow rookie Jonathan Frink (La Crescenta, Calif.) also showed well at the fifth flight, fighting back from a first-set loss to force a final set, 6-4. Mariano edged Frink with a 7-3 tiebreaker win as the final set.

The Scots got their second point of the day from junior Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.), who knocked back Hodor 6-1, 6-3.
