MILTON, Mass.—Gordon's magical run to the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship game continued with a thrilling 1-0 win in double overtime over Curry on Tuesday evening at William Katz Field. The Fighting Scots completed their second straight upset in the playoffs to reach the CCC finals for the second straight year and fourth time in five seasons.

The teams battled each other over the first 45 minutes of play to a 0-0 halftime score.  Gordon held the advantage in shots at 6-2.  Just two of the Fighting Scots shots however were on net with the Colonels senior goaltender Morgan Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) making both stops. Curry's two shots were just wide of the net.  Gordon's freshman goaltender Kali Denty (Marshfield, Mass.) didn't face a shot to save. 

The Fighting Scots had two corner kicks while the Colonels had zero.

The second half was similar to the first with Gordon controlling most of the play.  The Fighting Scots had another six shots with five landing on net. Stott was solid between the pipes making all five stops to hold Gordon scoreless.  Curry was unable to get a shot off as the Fighting Scots defense played tough.  Gordon added another two corner kicks while the Colonels earned one.  After 90 minutes of play the score remained 0-0 causing the teams to head into overtime.  Gordon held a 12-2 lead in shots and 4-1 in corner kicks. 

After 10 minutes of the first overtime, neither team could tally the game-winning goal.  Gordon got just one shot off but Stott made the save to send the squads into the second overtime. 

With just 1:14 off the clock, the Fighting Scotts took their final shot of the match which resulted in a goal and the 1-0 victory. Gordon gained possession to start and held it in their offensive zone for the 1:14 of play.  Curry tried clearing the ball but sophomore Tori Caswell (Uxbridge, Mass.) blocked it and one-timed it low into the back of the net, her second of the season.Stott made a great attempt to deny the game-winning score, but the diving attempt was unsuccessful

Gordon outshot Curry 14-2 and held a slight advantage in corner kicks at 2-1.

Stott made eight saves in goal for the Colonels in 101:14 minutes.  Denty didn't face a shot in 101:14 in net to earn the shutout win for the Fighting Scots.

Curry will wait to hear if they will play in the ECAC tournament concluding the CCC Championship.  Gordon is next in action on Saturday, November 5 when they travel to the #2 seed Wentworth for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship game.
