QUINCY, Mass.—Gordon Men's Tennis continued its winning ways with an 8-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene in the Commonwealth Coast Conference opener for both squads. The Fighting Scots dropped one doubles match and won all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 1-0 in the conference.
 
Gordon improves to 8-2 on the season overall and has won four straight matches since suffering a 9-0 defeat at the hands of 16-1 Baldwin Wallace. The Lions drop their third consecutive contest after beginning the season 6-2.
 
Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.) survived the Lions' top duo, 8-6. Nathan Lookwhy (Westborough, Mass.) and Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) doubled up Andres Biondi and Kevin Paterno at the second flight, 8-4.
 
ENC got their lone point of the day at third doubles with an 8-6 win by Shaw Campbell and Yahalel Carter.
 
Hall made quick work of Alex Partyka at first singles, 6-0, 6-2. Lookwhy and Michael D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.) clinched victory for the Scots with wins where each player only dropped two total games.
 
Casady and Godwin posted identical 62-, 6-3 results at second and fifth singles respectively.
 
Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, Va.) finished things up with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the sixth spot.
 
Gordon remains on the road on Saturday with a CCC match at Western New England for a noon start.
