WORCESTER, Mass.—Gordon Men's Tennis met its toughest test since returning from spring break, but the Fighting Scots still managed to pull off a 6-3 win for its seventh-straight triumph. The Fighting Scots move to 11-2 on the year.
 
The Fighting Scots continue to grind through doubles competition with all three results decided by only a few points here and there. Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.) held a break advantage at the top flight for Gordon's first point of the day. The Fighting Scots made it 2-0 when Nathan Lookwhy (Westborough, Mass.) and Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) edged out Andrey Samodaev (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Jacob Malicky (S. Egremont, Mass.) 9-8—7-4 in the tiebreak.
 
The Cougars earned their first point of the afternoon with a gritty 8-6 win at third doubles by Lenny Siegel (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Jimmy Keogh (Worcester, Mass.).
 
Hall put the Scots up 3-1 by blanking Samodaev at first singles, while Godwin brought the team to the brink of victory with a solid 6-3, 6-4 finish at the fifth spot. Clark got one back with a 6-0, 7-5 win by Keogh at the sixth flight before Michael D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.) finished things off with a 6-3, 6-2 win at four.
 
Clark and Gordon split a pair of three-set matches at the second and third flights. Casady picked up the sixth point of the day with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 win over Fernando Pinoargote (Guayaquil, Ecuador) at two.
 
Gordon completes its five-match road stretch on Wednesday at Division I opponent Holy Cross at 4 p.m.
