The Fighting Scots rounded out their official racing season at The Head of the Fish, the second largest collegiate head race in the United States. Despite foggy weather delays and schedule adjustments, senior
Erik Hallenbeck took home the first hardware of the day with a 3
rd place finish in the men's collegiate single, which had 18 entries. He was followed closely by freshman
Owen Williams and junior
Ethan Williams who took 13
th and 15
th in the same race, respectively. First was taken by Tufts University and second by the sculler from University of Rhode Island, who crossed the line less than 1.5 seconds ahead of Erik. The rest of the field included Marist College, WPI, several other contenders from Tufts, and Skidmore College.
The next race of the day was the women's collegiate single. Representing Gordon was senior
Madeline Hopkins, who finished 9
th out of 24 following scullers from UMass Amherst, WPI, Tufts, Marist, and Union. She finished ahead of Ithaca College, University of Rhode Island, and Skidmore as well as other athletes from Tufts University and UMass Amherst.

For the final race of the day, Endicott rower Genna Landy, who has been training with Hopkins this season**, teamed up with Hopkins to push their way onto the podium in the open women's pair. The two finished 3
rd out of the A boats, and first of the collegiate athletes. They came down the course following CRI and an unaffiliated entry and finished ahead of UMass Amherst, Marist College, Manhattan College, and SCCC.
**With the arrival of a new Endicott coach in the Fall of 2016, Gordon and Endicott have sparked a rivalry that is fierce and fiery on the race course but friendly at practice. The two teams share a boat house and train at the same times, often swapping athletes when seats need to be filled. Earlier this year, several Gordon rowers participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at Endicott together, less than a week after Endicott's men's four beat Gordon's by one second at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta. The two teams frequently share a trailer going to races, and this fall season Endicott's Genna Landy and Gordon's Maddie Hopkins teamed up to be one of the fastest collegiate women's pairs on the East Coast.
