BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 7 seed Gordon traveled to take on No. 2 seed Endicott in the quarterfinals of the CCC tournament and recorded a .049 hitting percentage in its 3-0 loss.
The Gulls (20-9) won the first set 25-15 as they recorded 15 kills and a .303 hitting percentage. They outscored the Fighting Scots (15-13) 14-4 to start out the set. Gordon cut the deficit to three points with a 10-3 run. Endicott closed out the set by scoring eight out of the next nine points.
In the second set, Gordon committed eight attack errors and a .039 hitting percentage as Endicott won the set 25-20. The Gulls started the set on with an 8-4 run. The Fighting Scots scored three in a row to cut the lead to one point before Endicott scored eight out of the next 11 to take a 15-11 lead. Gordon then scored six straight points to take a 17-15 lead. The Gulls scored ten out of the next 13 points to win the set.
Endicott took the third set 25-19 as they recorded 13 kills. The teams traded points back and forth to start the set until the Fighting Scots scored four straight to take a 10-6 lead. The Gulls responded by scoring 12 out of the next 21 points to take an 18-15 lead. They closed out the set and the match by scoring seven out of the next 11 points.
Mackenzie Hinds recorded ten kills and eight digs.
Meghan Hokanson had four kills and two block assists in her final collegiate game.
Ashlyn Gergins tallied 21 assists and nine digs.
Jenny Curtiss led the team with 25 digs and also had three assists.
Hokanson finishes her career with 107 matches played, 534 kills, 179 total blocks, 107 digs, 45 aces, and 12 assists.
