WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Curry in CCC play and recorded 29 turnovers and allowed 24 points off turnovers in its 55-44 loss.
The Fighting Scots (2-5, 0-3) started the game with a 13-8 run for a five-point lead. They stretched to eight points by the end of the first quarter. The Colonels (5-4, 2-1) cut the lead down to one point with an 11-4 run to start the second quarter. Gordon outscored them 8-7 to make it a 30-28 game going into halftime.
Abby Vampatella scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded two steals in the first half.
Meghan Foley scored five points, pulled in four rebounds, and recorded two steals.
Curry regained the lead in the third quarter with a 7-4 run. The Fighting Scots outscored them 6-4 to make it 40-39 to take a one-point lead going in to the fourth quarter. The Colonels tied the game at 44-44 with 6:38 remaining and then outscored Gordon 11-0 to close out the game.
Vampatella finished the game with eight points, five rebounds, and a career-best three steals. Foley scored seven points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded a career-best seven steals.
Natalie Gallant posted career-highs in points with seven and in rebounds with three.
The Fighting Scots next host Trinity (Conn.) in non-conference play Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
