Gulls Stop Scots in Regular Season Finale

WENHAM, Mass.—Gordon Women's Lacrosse ran into its toughest matchup of the season in a 16-0 loss to rival Endicott on a soggy Tuesday evening under the Brigham lights. The Gulls turned on the jets in the first half to the tune of 13 goals and never relinquished an opportunity for the Scots to get on the scoreboard. Endicott avenges a 2016 loss to the Fighting Scots while clinching an unbeaten Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season mark.

The Fighting Scots drop their fifth consecutive game after an 8-3 start to the year and sit at 3-5 in the conference. Gordon clinched the five seed in the upcoming tournament due to beating Western New England head-to-head to get the tiebreaker in its favor. Endicott (12-3) is the top seed and will have a bye.

Gordon will travel to fourth-seeded Salve on Saturday at 1 p.m.  Endicott will await the winner of that contest.

Five different Gulls scored at least two goals in the game with Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) leading the way with four. Meghan Lennon (Canton, Mass.) and Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.) also registered hat-tricks in the game. Whitney also added two assists, while Ali Campbell filled up the box score with two scores, three assists to go with a team-high three ground balls and two draws. Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.) led all players with seven draw controls.

Endicott outshot Gordon 25-11 overall and 19-6 on frame, but all six of the Scots' attempts were saved.
