WENHAM, Mass.—Gordon Women's Lacrosse celebrated Senior Day in style as all nine seniors put a goal in the net en route to a 20-0 win over Dean College. The Fighting Scots improve to 8-3 on the season and register their fifth consecutive win in the process. Dean drops to 0-9.
Anna Rourke (Hamilton, Mass.) opened the scoring for the home side with an unassisted goal in the third minute and Gordon never looked back from there. After a slight lull in the action, the Fighting Scots scored 10 goals in an eight-minute span to give themselves a comfortable margin.
Junior
Cassidy Allen (Rensselaer, N.Y.) scored her first two goals of the season for the Scots' fourth and fifth goals of the day, while adding an assist on
Paige Thompson's (West Chester, Pa.) second goal of the contest.
By halftime Gordon held a 14-0 advantage with five of the nine seniors having scored a goal in the game. Rookie
Brenna Peterson (Lebanon, N.H.) also scored her first goal of the season in the first half.
The remaining four seniors checked off the box of scoring in succession in the second half with
Michelle Satava (E. Patchogue, N.Y.),
Amanda Allen (Rensselaer, N.Y.) and
Kristin Fitzgerald (Groveland, Mass.) all found the back of the twine for the first time in 2017.
Olivia McCarrick (Glen Burnie, Md.) ended the day as the points leader with two goals and four assists.
Cassidy Allen had a career-high two goals and three assists in the game. Thompson added two goals and two assists.
Dean's Madison-Bailey Felton (Orange, N.J.) made 17 saves despite the loss.
