WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Bennett Center and held them to a 30.9 shooting percentage in its 65-45 win to split the season series.
The Fighting Scots (7-12, 5-7 CCC) started the game with a 22-14 run for an eight-point lead. The Bison (3-15, 1-10 CCC) cut the lead down to four points with an 8-4 run to start the second quarter. Gordon closed out the first half by scoring nine straight points to make it a 37-22 game at halftime. They shot 46.7 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from the three-point line in the first half.
Meghan Foley scored 18 points and grabbed three rebounds in the first half.
Brooke Dyson scored eight points and pulled in two rebounds.
Sarah Gibbs grabbed four rebounds and scored six points.
The Fighting Scots stretched the lead out to 16 points with a 10-8 run in the third quarter. They built the lead up to 20 points twice in the fourth quarter and sealed the win by outscoring Nichols 14-10 in the quarter. They held them to 26.7 percent shooting from the field in the second half.
Foley finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. She now has nine games where she scored 20 or more points. Dyson tied her career-high with 17 points while also grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists. Gibbs pulled in ten rebounds and scored nine points.
Gordon next hosts Wentworth in CCC play Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. They defeated the Leopards 68-43 earlier this season on the road.
