The No. 3 seed Fighting Scots traveled to Newport, Rhode Island this afternoon to face the Seahawks of Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinal action and handed the Seahawks their first loss of the season, 4-2, to advance to the CCC title game.

With the game 0-0 at halftime, Gordon came out firing on all cylinders in the second frame, scoring three goals in a six-minute span behind tallies from Micah Craig at 56:24, Tyler Modzeleski 30 seconds later, and Luckson Dambo in the 63rd.

Despite the deficit, the Seahawks fought their way back with a Matthew O'Donnell (Sr./Pittsburgh, Pa.) penalty kick and an Owen Stevenson (So./Middletown, Conn.) finish two and a half minutes later on a setup from Rich Ventura (Fr./Floral Park, N.Y.) to make it a 3-2 ballgame in the 74th minute. SRU continued to press in search of the equalizer, but Jarvin Ramirez's score in the 80th minute stole back momentum for the Scots, who rode out the remaining minutes to the a 4-2 victory.

The Scots will host No. 5 seed Roger Williams on Saturday, November 3 at 1 p.m. for the championship hardware. The last time the Hawks visited the Brigham Athletic Complex, the visitors defeated the Scots 2-1 in overtime on October 13.
