Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

OT Magic Falters As Gulls Edge Scots, 3-2

Endicott Men's Soccer midfielder Brandon Houghton (So./Hartford, Conn.) picked a good time to net his first tally of the year, breaking a 2-2 tie just over three minutes into the first overtime to lift the Gulls to a one-goal win over the host Fighting Scots in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) showdown tonight at Gordon's Brigham Athletic Complex.

The CCC loss marks Gordon's first of the season (3-1-0, 8-5-0 overall), while Endicott remains unbeaten at 4-0-2 (7-4-2 overall).

Endicott garnered the early momentum when Alex Vuksta (So./Hudson, Ohio) tapped home a rebound off a save from Gordon's Wesley Sprague in the 24th minute and Evan Couchot (Jr./Mason, Ohio) continued his scoring tear just seven minutes later with his 13th of the season off a helper from Conner Couchot (Gr./Mason, Ohio) to build a 2-0 lead midway through the first. Refusing to go down without a fight, Gordon responded right away when Noah Craig booked his first of the year off an assist from Luckson Dambo to make it a 2-1 ballgame at the break.

Dambo then got in on the scoring action himself in the 64th minute, besting EC netminder Jack Bacon (Jr./Lincoln, R.I.) off a rebound to level to game at 2-2, a score that would hold throughout the remainder of regulation to force extra time.

The Scots' overtime magic from Saturday's win over WNE unfortunately did not carry over to tonight's grudge match, however, as Houghton toe-poked the winner through a crowd into the back of the net for the walk off victory.

Gordon looks to get back in the win column as Roger Williams University comes to Wenham for a CCC duel on Saturday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Endicott travels to Wentworth on the same day for a 12:30 p.m. start.
